Phishing, is a computer term that refers to a model of computer abuse and is committed through the use of a type of social engineering, characterized by trying to acquire confidential information fraudulently (such as a password or confidential and/or secret information of an information system). The cybercriminal, known as a «phisher», pretends to be a trusted person or company in an apparent official electronic communication, usually an email, or some instant messaging system or even using phone calls.
The use of fake email accounts with a high resemblance to the eBCD support account or eBCD user’s accounts, with the intention of carrying out phishing attacks to eBCD users has been recently detected. Such accounts are aimed compromise the confidentiality of the information managed at the eBCD system.
